Self Medicating Template - Buggy Users

Good News! If you find yourself unable to walk the course because of a temporary impairment but feel you could still play in a qualifying competition if you had the use of a ride on buggy, you can apply for a ‘Self Medicating Certificate’ - available from the Pro shop.

The Club puts no restriction on fun or social competitions and therefore no certificate is necessary but, if you wish to play in any club administered competition, including qualifying Medals, Stablefords, Cups and Trophies, then you need to apply for a certificate prior to play.

However, players wishing to enter and play in any externally administered competition e.g. Devon Golf or Regional competitions, will still need to comply with the tournament organisers ‘competition conditions of play’, many of whom require a doctor's medical certificate. County and Vets organisations administer many of their own tournaments e.g. Sheelah Creasy, Emerton Court, OOM Opens etc, and they too have their own ‘competition conditions of play’. If you have any doubts about a particular competition, it's best to check with the tournament organisers before submitting your entry form.

If you have a permanent disability or health problem that necessitates use of a buggy, you will still need to complete the relevant paperwork, available from the office.
