Members have the opportunity to enjoy a good variety of golfing events.
Gents
| Sunday is the usual competition day for the gents with a popular Sun AM pairs match play league contested during the winter season. Shotgun starts get members together at the 19th hole. Competitions are blended between team and individual formats with Midweek Medals and a Monday Stableford on going between April and October. A roll up "The Saturday Circus" operates year round. A number of fun competitions are included in the fixtures and friendly matches are played with clubs across Devon, Dorset and Somerset and members (subject to any handicap criteria), if selected, can also represent the club and compete in both the East Devon and Dartmoor Leagues. |
Ladies
| Wednesday is when we usually run a variety of ladies competitions, with some of the qualifying competitions for the ladies also being available on weekends. There are plenty of opportunities for social golf, together with friendly matches against other clubs. We also have a small group called ‘Coppers’ which mentors and gives guidance to ladies who are still learning the game. This includes organising short fun competitions, finding playing partners and helping them to make new friends within the Club. |
Senior Gents (Over 60's)
| If you are over 60 years, you will be made very welcome to join our Senior gents, where Friday is the usual competition day, with other roll-up groups through the week. We currently have over 120 members and play around 34 friendly matches against local clubs, on a home and away basis. We organise three Opens a year, and teams are selected to play in the Emerton Court knock-out competition, as well as the Stag, Jurassic and Pheasant Trophy events. Within the Club, the Seniors also play matches against the Ladies, Juniors, and other members. |
Juniors
| We have a good number juniors in this section. Saturday morning is when we usually run competitions for these members and are for ages ranging from 6 to 18. Our competitions are varied so that we can all take part. Also see JUNIORS in the ABOUT tab for further information. |
Tuesday Mixed Competitions
| The Tuesday Mixed Fours is very popular at Honiton Golf Club. Anyone can play, regardless of handicap, it is very much a social occasion and a great way of meeting other members. We have a different competition each week. In the summer (BST) the tee times start from 1pm and in the winter (GMT) start from 10.30am. |
